Come witness the work-in-progress performance of Resilience, a new multimedia production by Taina Asili. Resilience brings to center stage the reclamation, resistance and resilience stories of five women of color from Asili’s community, through a performance combining music, videography and projection. Taina Asili conducted interviews with five women of color of varying ages from her community, and then composed six new bilingual songs inspired by their stories. Resilience seeks to challenge the marginalization and misinterpretation of women of color’s stories, by creating a performance and post-performance conversation that centers and celebrates their powerful authentic voice.
