The Scareousel Ball

Scareousel Ball

Come one, come all, to the 2nd Annual Triple Cities Scareousel Ball!
Fri. October 24th, 2014, 9pm-2am
Spool MFG, 138 Baldwin St. Johnson City, NY
18 to party/21 to drink, Tickets: $15/advance, $20/door ($15 w/ valid student ID)

The Music: Big Mean Sound Machine (two sets), Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde, Alpha Brass Band, The Newman Brothers, Zydeco Po’ Boys, & DJ Sets by DJ Juniper and DJ Space One.

The Dancing: Two giant dance floors! With two rooms of music, we’re making sure there’s something for everyone- always a band playing, and always a DJ in the opposite room.

The Imbibing: Our cash bar will feature some of the area breweries’ best local beers, plus local wine, and a selection of sodas (for all you DDs out there!). Additionally, free water stations will be set-up throughout the venue.

The Food: We know, we know… this was a bit of an issue last year. Crossed lines, a lack of communication, and some hungry folks… DON’T YOU WORRY! This year, we absolutely guarantee there’ll be a complimentary set-up of light fare, featuring appetizers and noshes from a selection of our favorite local eateries. We’ve got a whole slew of food lined up, but keep in mind- once it’s gone, it’s gone, so make sure to come early!

The Performers: Sword swallowers, snake charmers, burlesque dancers, hoopers, silk dancers, and a whole lot more… appearing onstage at regular intervals throughout the night. (more info TBA)

The Art: We’re supremely excited to be featuring the ethereal video-light painting of Binghamton’s Stephen Schweitzer, plus several live painters, projections, and more TBA.

The Costume Contest: Well, that’s pretty self-explanatory, isn’t it? Dress to impress! There’ll be some pretty sweet prizes.

The Venue: Spool MFG is a world-class contemporary art space, located in an old spool factory along the train tracks in Johnson City, NY… they’re offering quite a bit more space this year, which means we’re adding a second dance floor and an Ouija lounge! Oh, and they say it’s haunted!

The Tickets: $15 Advance Sale Tickets can be bought beginning September 15th at the Old Union Hotel (246 Clinton St, Binghamton), RiverRead Books (5 Court St, Binghamton), and Water’s Edge Esoteric Marketplace (57 Washington Ave, Endicott). Cash only, please! Tickets will also be available at the door for $20 ($15 w/ valid student ID). Proceeds go to ensure the continued operations of the region’s only free, alternative arts monthly.
