Resiliencia Documentary
In January 2018, just four months after Hurricane Maria landed in Puerto Rico, I travelled to the island to document the devastation and interview women about what they were experiencing and learning during that time. Today I share with you my new 10 minute music video documentary featuring the song “Resiliencia” (resilience) which was inspired by this experience, blended with an interview with Yasmin Hernandez, an artist from Moca, Puerto Rico. It is being released on Youtube today because it is the one year anniversary of the hurricane. The video documents the natural and unnatural devastation to the island and its people, while lifting up the resilience, creativity, and strength of the Puerto Rican nation and the human spirit.
This will be the first in a series of music video documentaries I will be releasing with songs from my new album coming out in 2019. See pics from our recent video shoot here.
I also produced an extended 30 minute Resiliencia documentary featuring four women I interviewed in Puerto Rico, which I will be showing throughout the nation this year. To book a showing, or to get more information about upcoming showings near you, go to http://tainaasili.com/ResilienciaMovie
