In 2017, as millions rose up against Trump’s oppressive policies, I released No Es Mi Presidente—a song born from resistance. Now, in 2025, as the grip of fascism tightens and attacks on our rights escalate, the urgency of this message has never been greater. That’s why I released No Es Mi Presidente Remix on MLK Day—a day meant to honor justice and liberation, but one that, this year, tragically coincided with the inauguration. In this moment of crisis, music remains a powerful force to unite, inspire, and strengthen our collective resistance.

No Es Mi Presidente Remix isn’t just about rejecting one president or one administration. It’s about rejecting all systems of oppression, no matter who is in office. It’s also about reclaiming our power— a power that has never come from the top—but from the people who take to the streets, build mutual aid networks, lead labor strikes, defend our most vulnerable communities, and stand in unwavering solidarity with movements for justice across the globe. It is the voices of organizers, activists, artists, educators, and all people who refuse to be silent in the face of oppression that will build a future rooted in liberation.
