Albany Library Series: Canción de Luz

In this workshop we will hear a performance of “Canción de Luz” by Taína Asili and watch a short video interview with Luz Marquez Benbow, whose story of sexual abuse and survival inspired the song. The performance and video will be followed by a discussion with Luz Marquez about Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Participants are invited (but not required) to read the book Love With Accountability: Digging Up the Roots of Child Sexual Abuse (trigger warning – this book contains graphic accounts of sexual abuse).
