Albany Library Series: La Verdad

In this workshop we will watch La Verdad (10 min.), a documentary short by Taína Asili about artist and activist Isabel Lopez. Isabel shares her journey of migration from Mexico to Santa Rosa, California, later founding the Raizes Collective, an arts collective offering artists and teachers of color resources to affect social and political change through art and community building. The film will be followed with a discussion on art and immigration rights. Participants are invited (but not required) to read the book When We Fight We Win! by Greg Jobin-Leeds.
