Plant the Seed

I am so excited to release our newest music video documentary and single from my upcoming album Resiliencia! Plant the Seed shares the story of black farmer and educator Leah Penniman and her journey to become the co-founder of Soul Fire Farm, a national leader in the food justice movement. Leah is the author of Farming While Black: Soul Fire Farm’s Practical Guide to Liberation on the Land. As a board member of the Soul Fire Farm Institute, and Leah’s dear friend, I have witnessed first hand the impact her work is making in this world, and I am so honored to lift her up with this song and video.

The Resiliencia album is now available for pre-order, which gives you the ability to download the songs “Plant the Seed” and “Resiliencia” before the official release on April 19th, 2019!  This is the second in a series of music video documentaries we will be releasing throughout the year from the album, which highlights the stories of women of color and resilience.
