MLK Day Social Justice Music Celebration

Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde will host their second annual MLK Day Socice Justice Music Celebration, offering a soundtrack to honor the work of our continuing social justice movements. Join our social justice dance party to launch the 10th Anniversary Celebration at The Sanctuary for Independent Media! Taina Asili y la Banda Rebelde will perform with special guest social justice artists, including DJ Trumastr, Masai Atg, and Amani Olugbala, all of Beat*Shot Productions!

$10 at the door. Beer and wine for sale.
Partial proceeds will go to Capital Area Against Mass Incarceration.

PRE-SHOW FUN!
Warm up the night with some pre-show fun from 7-8pm for Music and Art: the Fuel that Keeps our Movement Going. Projections of music video excerpts, from archival footage of the civil rights movement from 60’s to now, with music by DJ Trumastr.

THE NEXT DAY!
Join Taina Asili on Sat. 1/16 from 3-5pm for Reclaim the Thunder: Songs for Social Change Workshop. This workshop bring the history and songwriting techniques of social justice music together in an interactive radical music jam to reinvent our world.
