For Taina Asili’s new album, she travelled to various parts of the U.S. and Puerto Rico, interviewing women about their stories of resilience. From these poignant stories, Taina composed a powerful and unique new body of music, with lyrics written in both English and Spanish. The album carries inspiring messages of hope, while moving audiences to dance to the infectious Afro-Latin, reggae and rock rhythms and her powerhouse voice. All interviews were filmed and will be used for creative promotion of the album.

Taina currently performs at venues, festivals, colleges and conferences throughout the nation, and with the release of this new album, Taina Asili plans to tour extensively. During Taína Asili’s 20-year career of creating music for social change she has toured the country numerous times, as well as Canada, Europe and Mexico. Taína Asili has performed at many well-known festivals and venues, sharing the stage with renowned artists and activists such as Talib Kweli, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe, Angela Davis, Cornel West, Sonia Sanchez, Tom Morello, Paula Cole, Jello Biafra, and The Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars.
